We are pleased to announce the publication of "Skills-Based Organization - Beyond Job-Based Talent Management." Keisuke Takayanagi, a partner at EY Strategy and Consulting and a guest lecturer, wrote Chapters 3 and 9 of this book.
In recent years, as job-based employment has been advancing in Japanese companies, securing personnel who match job descriptions and defining job roles have become significant challenges. Additionally, even companies that maintain traditional HR systems face numerous challenges such as improving productivity and optimizing talent placement. As a result, there is a growing trend towards transitioning to skills-based organizations, which focus on hiring, placing, developing, and evaluating employees based on their individual skills.
Skill-based organizations offer many advantages, including flexible talent placement, skill enhancement programs that support career self-reliance, and the potential for fair talent utilization regardless of attributes. This book provides a detailed explanation of the methods for transitioning to such talent management, featuring case studies from leading Japanese companies and the latest skill-tech firms, elaborated by a team of top consultants.
