2023年度ABS新規科目「シビック・エンゲージメント・プロジェクト」で受講学生が8つのコミュニティ活動を企画・推進

青山学院大学院国際マネジメント研究科（青山ビジネススクール：ABS）の新規科目「シビック・エンゲージメント・プロジェクト」（担当：宮副謙司教授）では、受講学生33名が8つのグループを編成し、それぞれ独自のコミュニティ活動を企画し、実行着手しました。

このように「シビック・エンゲージメント」の名称がつく授業科目は、青山学院大学で初めてで、ビジネススクールとしても他校にない特徴のある取り組みです。

本授業は、①「シビック・エンゲージメント」の本質を理解し、自分のシビックスキル（意識・行動力）を高めること、②地域・企業・団体のコミュニティ活動の実施・実践に向け具体的に関わる努力をすることを掲げています。授業前半に企業・団体が地域や社会に向け実施するコミュニティ活動の事例を学び、後半では学生自らも今後コミュニティ活動を企画し、様々な関係者を巻き込み・調整し、プロジェクトを推進するリーダーシップ能力を身に着けるように努力しました。

• ・徳島県「神山まるごと高専」への献本-本の架け橋プロジェクト
• ・亀島川活性化プロジェクト-環境整備活動への参画・河岸遊歩道活性化提案など
• ・日本で働く技能実習生応援プロジェクト-モンゴル人実習生との正月交流イベントの企画・開催
• ・地域と大学生をつなぐ地域活性化-福島県磐梯町の観光活性化への取組み
• ・湘南地域ビーチクリーン-海岸美化回収物のアップサイクル製品開発支援
• ・「グリーンスクール」をモデルにした親子でのSDGs教育プログラムの構想-啓蒙コミュニティ活動の計画
• ・「ウィキペディアタウン」参画による地域を学び発信する活動の開催計画
• ・バスケットボールを通じた貧困家庭の子供たち支援-奨励金給付・用具寄付などの構想

■授業の成果

上記の活動は、2023年度後期の授業期間中に実施できたもの、準備を行い今後実現に向かうものなど様々ですが、この授業を通じて地域や社会に向けてのコミュニティ活動を新たに生み出し、ソーシャルアントレプレナー人材の育成も着実に進みました。これらの活動の今後一層の発展と、受講したメンバーの活躍にご期待ください。

Students Plan and Promote 8 Community Activities in the "Civic Engagement Project," a New ABS Course for Academic Year 2023

　In the "Civic Engagement Project," a new course offered by Graduate School of International Management (Aoyama Business School: ABS), Aoyama Gakuin University Professor Kenji Miyazoe who is in charge of this course has divided the 33 students into 8 groups, with each group planning and implementing their own community activities. This is the first time that Aoyama Gakuin University has offered a course titled "Civic Engagement," and it is a unique initiative that cannot be found at other business schools

The class has two objectives. First, students understand the essence of "civic engagement" and enhance one's own civic skills (awareness and ability to act).Second, students make concrete efforts to implement and put into practice of community activities by local areas, companies, and organizations. In the first half of the class, students learned about examples of community activities conducted by companies and organizations for local communities and society, while in the second half, students planned future community activities and put effort to develop leadership skills to promote the project by involving and coordinating various stakeholders.

■ 8 civic engagement activities planned and undertaken by the students (in no particular order)

• ・Donation of books to "Kamiyama Marugoto College of Technology" in Tokushima Prefecture -Book Bridge Project
• ・Kamejima River Revitalization Project: Participation in environmental improvement activities and proposals to revitalize the riverbank promenade, etc.
• ・Support for Mongolian technical intern trainees -Organization of New Year's exchange events
• ・Regional revitalization connecting local communities and university students - Efforts to revitalize tourism in Bandai Town, Fukushima Prefecture
• ・Shonan Area Beach Cleanup - Support for development of upcycled products from collected items for beach beautification
• ・Concept of SDGs education for parents and children based on the model of "Green Schools" -Plan to hold "Civic Engagement Forum
• ・Plan to hold activities to learn about the community and disseminate information through participation in "Wikipedia Town
• ・Support for children from poor families through basketball - Concept for incentive payments, equipment donations, etc.

■Outcomes of the class

The activities listed above were implemented during the second semester of Fiscal Year 2023, while others were prepared and aimed at realizing in the future. Through this class, new community activities for the region and society were created and social entrepreneurial human resources have been steadily developed. We look forward to the further development of these activities and the success of the class members.
